The Kinship Anchor Project, in proud partnership with Play It Safe Inc., invites our community, corporate sponsors, and local partners to join us for our Annual Kinship Toy Drive.

When a family crisis strikes, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and relative guardians step up without hesitation to provide a loving home for young children. This event is dedicated to ensuring that every child raised in a kinship family experiences the joy, comfort, and developmental benefits of receiving new, age-appropriate, and safety-tested toys.

Together, we are bringing smiles to children's faces while giving relative caregivers the support they need to make the holidays and special seasons stress-free.

Event Purpose

The purpose of this joint initiative goes beyond simply collecting and distributing gifts—it is designed to support the holistic well-being of vulnerable youth and their caregivers through three core pillars:

Relieving Financial Strain for Caregivers: Relative caregivers often raise children on fixed retirement incomes or limited budgets. This drive ensures they do not have to choose between basic household necessities and providing developmental toys or holiday gifts for the children in their care.

Promoting Safe & Age-Appropriate Play: Partnering with Play It Safe Inc. ensures that every toy collected meets rigorous safety standards, is appropriate for the child's developmental stage, and provides a safe, trauma-informed outlet for play and healing.

Fostering Belonging & Emotional Security: For youth navigating family disruption or parental incarceration, receiving a safe, brand-new toy of their own brings a sense of normalcy, dignity, and comfort during challenging transitions.
